• Classic furniture piece with buttoned seat. Footstool, child's chair, heirloom furniture
Classic meets Rustic with this ‘Bark On’ stool in pale Birch wood. The wooden stool frame is made from branch wood from a Silver Birch tree from our woodland. A dense area of Birch trees needed thinning, which means taking some trees out to leave space for others to grow on and mature, this wood came from one of the trees that was felled. The Birch bark ranges in colour from reddish brown when young to white, when mature, each stage possessing its own special beauty.  I felled this tree in the winter a couple of years ago, and left the wood to dry before making this stool. The seat is made from reclaimed wood upholstered in rich, mustard gold velvet. The mustard colouring is both retro and classic, whilst also being a totally current colour trend for interiors. The buttoning detail gives a further classic look. Whether your interior space is shabby chic, classic, or traditional country house styling, this wee stool will nestle in nicely! As well as looking great, this chic little number can be used as a footstool, fireside stool, child’s stool or for any other low down sitting. Includes P&P Dimensions: H29 x W40 x D25 cm
  • A Pimp is a large bundle of mini Pimps, each one has a split Hazel stick and Birch twigs tied with tarred string. The mini Pimps make excellent fire starters and the whole thing makes a gorgeous fireside ornament. The Pimp is a Heritage Craft; the name is thought to derive from its use as a ‘go between’ from flame to fire. The frame is made by a local Blacksmith. A Pimp can be bought alone or with a frame, I recommend buying with the frame as it keeps its shape to the end. Includes P&P Dimensions: H43 x W39 x D24 cm

Gypsy flowers are part of our cultural heritage, made by the gypsy travellers of old, who moved with the seasons. The gypsies harvested crops from spring to autumn and made crafts, such as these carved flowers, to sell door to door in the winter.   Hand carved from a Hazel wood pole, these flowers make a beautiful gift. They look great alone in a vase or as an addition to a fresh floral bouquet, yet these ones need no water & go on living indefinitely! I carve several flowers from one Hazel pole. Clamping the pole in the mouth of my ‘shave horse’ I sit on the saddle and use a drawknife (a long blade with 2 handles) to carve out the petals. The sweep head variety is carved when the wood is fairly ‘green’, meaning that it still contains moisture having not long been cut. The wetness in the wood means the petals come out with a long sweeping curve, rather than the curly headed variety that is more of a corkscrew curl. Making Heritage Crafts helps to keep our cultural heritage alive. When I attend a craft show I sell gypsy flowers and sometimes I demonstrate the making of them. People are always interested in the Gypsy Flowers & usually say that they have never seen them before, it feels good to be amongst the greenwood crafters helping to revive the awareness of our cultural heritage. Includes P&P

Dimensions: Variable: Flower heads are 15-20 cm diameter, height of flower and stem 40-60 cm. Stems are cut to different heights so that a bunch of 3 sit well together.
